The ACLU is petitioning President Obama to rescind NSEERS, the “system for registering certain non-citizens within the United States”. The ACLU says:

This ineffective and fundamentally unfair program does nothing to make us more secure – and is too dangerous a tool to hand over to the next administration.

Given Wikipedia’s note that “Donald Trump mulled the possibility of reinstating the NSEERS in order to monitor the activities of Muslim immigrants from countries considered high terror risks,” this petition has my signature on it.
